D9R Armored Bulldozer with Slat Armor

The D9R armored bulldozers entered service with the Israeli army between late 2003 and early 2004 as standard equipment of the combat engineer battalions. They are mainly used in the West Bank, the Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip. They are a multi-purpose platform used in the Israeli army's guerrilla operations in urban areas and in low-intensity combat in complex regions. Since 2005, the D9Rs have been equipped with slatted armor that effectively protects them against RPG-7 attacks. In addition, weapons such as machine guns and grenade launchers can be mounted on the roof of the cabin for self-defense.
