The Audi R8 is a German sports car that was first presented to the general public at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. Series production lasted from 2006 to 2015 and was carried out at the Neckarsulm site. The designers of the car were Frank Lamberty and Walter de’Silva.

The R8 was manufactured by a subsidiary of the Audi Group called Audi-Sport GmbH or – more commonly – Quattro GmbH. The name of the car refers to the racing car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times. The Audi R8 also has certain similarities with the Audi Le Mans Quattro concept car, introduced in 2003, in terms of its design language and some design solutions. Since 2010, the R8 model could be powered by two different engines: an 8-cylinder with 430 hp and a 10-cylinder with 560 hp, which could be combined with a manual or semi-automatic transmission. In addition, the Audi R8 has many technological innovations, such as full LED headlights and magnetic shock absorbers on vehicles with a V10 engine. The car has an all-aluminum body. In 2010, the Spyder model with a roadster body was launched. The Audi R8 with a V10 engine and the GT version reaches a top speed of 320 km/h, and its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 3.6 seconds.
