The Škoda 100 mm vz. 14/19 was a modernized development of the Austro-Hungarian 10 cm field howitzer M.14 from the First World War. After 1919, Škoda lengthened the tube from L/19 to L/24, which increased the range from around 8.4 to almost 10 kilometers. Thanks to its robust construction, good shooting performance and high reliability, the vz. 14/19 became one of the most successful field howitzers in Central Europe and was used by numerous countries.

In addition to the Czechoslovakian standard version, various national variants emerged. Poland manufactured the wz. 14/19P under license and converted many guns for the motorized train. Italy initially used the original M.14 as the Obice da 100/17 Mod. 14 and later modernized numerous guns to the Mod. 14/19 version. Hungary and Yugoslavia also purchased the howitzer in large numbers. After the occupation of Czechoslovakia, the Wehrmacht took over numerous guns and continued to use them under the designation 10 cm leFH 14/19(t).

Externally, the variants differ primarily in tube length, wheels, protective shields and versions for horse-drawn or motorized trains. The modernized vz. The 14/19 remained in use until the 1940s and was one of the most widespread 100 mm howitzers in Europe. It is particularly interesting for model makers as it can be represented in Czechoslovakian, Polish, Italian, Hungarian, Yugoslavian and German services.
