The railway passenger car with the designation Cid-27 was a two-axle platform passenger car of the German Reichsbahn with an all-steel construction. Due to their design and lack of insulation, the cars made an extremely loud noise, which earned them the name Donnerwagen (Thundercar) or Donnerbüchse (Thundercan). The cars had a platform at the front and back that you could use to get in and out. The platforms had a folding "bridge" that could be used to connect to other passenger cars. Over 8,000 of these cars were manufactured between 1921 and 1931. They were still in use after the war with the German Federal Railway until the 1970s, and in Poland even until 1989. The Reichsbahn of the GDR also used the Donnerbüchsen. Today you can still "enjoy" a ride in one of these cars on some museum railways.

In World War II, the German Wehrmacht used this Schwimmwagen (amphibious vehicle) for its ground forces.
The military version was built with an enlarged interior. According to the ideas of the Heereswaffenamt (HWA) or German Army Weapons Agency, up to 16 soldiers should then be transported with the Trippel SG 6/38. The vehicle reached a speed of up to 95 km/h on land and 14,5 km/h on water. Plastic model kit for an amphibious Trippel Schwimmwagen
