Raketenjagdpanzer Jaguar 2

The Jaguar 2 was developed from the conversion of old tank destroyers between 1983 and 1985.
The TOW anti-tank missile system with AN/TAS night vision equipment was installed as the weapon system. A total of 165 of these vehicles were produced.
The body was equipped with additional armor on the front and sides. There is no bow machine gun, as on the Jaguar 1, but instead a smoke grenade launcher is installed on the front plate. Twelve guided missiles are available as combat load inside the vehicle. Since the weapon system is extended from the vehicle with the operator on a platform, the Jaguar 2 is not operational under NBC conditions, and the TOW cannot be operated under armor protection.
The new TOW 2 LFK was introduced in 1989.
The last Jaguar 2 was retired from active service in 1999.
The Jaguar 2 is powered by an MTU 8-cylinder diesel engine with 500 hp. With a total weight of 24.8 tons, it can reach a maximum speed of 70 km/h. It is 6.61 m long, 3.12 m wide, and 1.98 m high.
