The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9, also known as the "Dora," was one of the most capable fighter variants in the Fw 190 family and entered service with the Luftwaffe in late 1944. Unlike earlier versions powered by radial engines, it was equipped with the liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo 213A inline engine; this resulted in the aircraft's characteristic elongated nose and improved performance, particularly at higher altitudes.

The "Broad Tail" variant aircraft manufactured by Mimetall featured an enlarged vertical stabilizer, which improved flight stability and handling. The Fw 190D-9 was armed with two 13 mm machine guns and two 20 mm cannons. Thanks to its high speed, strong climb rate, and heavy armament, it ranked among the most capable German fighter aircraft of World War II and was primarily deployed to intercept Allied bomber formations and fighter aircraft.
