Since the Bundeswehr may still make minor detail modifications before final delivery, it remains to be seen how the absolute final production nuances evolve. What this kit delivers right now, however, is a vast leap forward compared to previous market offerings.

What was prematurely labeled as an “A8” by other manufacturers in the past was, upon closer inspection, a modeling “Frankenstein”:

• Incorrect Base (Hull): Previous kits mistakenly relied on the hull of the Danish Leopard 2 A7 (A7DK).
• Fictional Turret: Mismatched turrets were placed on these hulls – often complemented by an incorrect weapon station, while the essential additional armor on the turret roof was completely missing.
• No Connection to Serial Production: These early releases had visually and technically nothing in common with the real A8 production standard rolling off the assembly line at KNDS.

This new kit puts an end to these prototype compromises. From the specific contours of the hull to the correct arrangement of the Trophy components and the distinct roof armor, this model represents the Leopard 2 A8 exactly as it was revealed to the public in November 2025.
