The ACV-P (Amphibious Combat Vehicle – Personnel) is the standard variant of the United States Marine Corps' (USMC) new family of amphibious combat vehicles, gradually replacing the AAV7A1, which has been in service since the 1970s. Developed by BAE Systems in collaboration with IVECO Defence Vehicles, the vehicle is based on the proven SuperAV concept. The goal was to create a modern, highly mobile, and better-protected amphibious transport vehicle capable of effectively supporting both ship-to-shore landing operations and subsequent operations on land.

The eight-wheeled ACV-P features a powerful six-cylinder turbodiesel engine producing approximately 700 hp, permanent all-wheel drive, and hydropneumatic independent suspension, enabling high mobility even in difficult terrain. It achieves speeds of over 100 km/h on roads, while propelling itself through the water using two powerful waterjet drives. Unlike the previous AAV7A1, the ACV-P is designed for operation in rougher seas and can independently traverse significant distances between amphibious assault ships and the shore.

The crew consists of a driver, a commander, and a gunner. Additionally, it can transport up to 13 fully equipped Marines. Ballistic protection has been significantly improved compared to the predecessor; features include modern composite armor, enhanced mine and IED protection via a V-shaped hull design, and energy-absorbing seats to protect occupants. Depending on the mission profile, the armor can be further reinforced with modular add-on armor.

In its baseline configuration, the ACV-P is armed with a remote weapon station that can be fitted with either a 12.7 mm M2HB machine gun or a 40 mm Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher, depending on the mission requirements. Modern day and thermal imaging optics, laser rangefinders, and digital command and communication systems enable effective reconnaissance and target engagement by day and night. At the same time, the vehicle is fully integrated into the US Marine Corps' modern command and information systems.
