The T-54B was an advanced variant of the Soviet T-54 and ranked among the most significant main battle tanks of the Cold War. Introduced in the late 1950s, it was characterized by high firepower, robust armor, and reliable engineering. The T-54B was armed with a 100mm D-10T2S gun; thanks to a two-plane stabilization system, this allowed for significantly greater accuracy even while on the move. Its armament was complemented by coaxial and turret-mounted machine guns. Powered by a 520 hp diesel engine, the tank—weighing approximately 36 tons—reached a top speed of around 50 km/h and boasted good off-road capability. The T-54B was fielded by numerous nations and saw action in various regional conflicts. Its ease of maintenance, high reliability, and massive production numbers made it one of the most successful and widely used main battle tanks of its era.
