The Humber Light Reconnaissance Car was a British light reconnaissance armored car of the Second World War, also used by the 1st Czechoslovak Independent Armoured Brigade Group (1st CIABG). This brigade consisted of Czechoslovakian exiles in Great Britain and fought from 1944 onwards, primarily during the Siege of Dunkirk, under the command of the First Canadian Army. The Humber LRC was mainly used for reconnaissance, liaison, and security duties. Based on a civilian Humber chassis, the vehicle featured 4x4 drive, an approximately 80–87 hp six-cylinder gasoline engine, and light armor up to 12 mm thick. With a top speed of around 120 km/h, the Humber was considered fast and agile, but was only lightly armed – usually with a Bren machine gun and a Boys anti-tank rifle. Its speed and reliability made the Humber particularly well-suited for reconnaissance patrols and courier duties. In total, more than 3,600 vehicles were built, and today the Humber LRC is one of the best-known British reconnaissance vehicles of the Second World War.
