The Australian Army has used the M113 APC since 1964.
The T50 turret was selected as the standard turret for Australian M113s.
M113A1s with T50 turrets arrived in South Vietnam in August 1968.
Almost all Australian Army M113A1s were eventually fitted with these turrets.
The turret was originally armed with two L3A3 machine guns, but some were later re-equipped with an M2 Browning and an M1919A3.
