M3 Stuart late production

Einloggen und Bewertung schreiben
Spring 1940: US military planners observed the advance of German forces in Western Europe and concluded that they needed a replacement for their soon obsolete M2A4.
Their immediate response was the M3 light tank, production of which began in March 1941.
The original design had a riveted hull and a 250hp engine.
The firepower was supplied by the 37mm gun.
Later production variants had a new, flatter turret without a cupola, and some later models had the nose machine guns removed.
The M3 not only fought with the USA forces in North Africa and the Pacific, but was also supplied via the UK to the Red Army where it was used as a reconnaissance vehicle and infantry support.
