US Cougar 6x6 MRAP Vehicle

The Cougar 6×6 MRAP, developed by the US company Force Protection Inc., is an armored vehicle capable of withstanding roadside bombings and ambushes.
It is powered by a 330 hp Caterpillar C-7 diesel engine and has a 6x6 chassis.
Its maximum speed is up to 105 km/h.
It can carry 10 people.
The vehicle can withstand the detonation of a 13.6 kg TNT charge under the front and rear axles and a 6.8 kg TNT charge under the center of the vehicle.
Both the hull and the bulletproof windows can withstand 7.62 mm projectiles.
An M2 MG, an M240 GPMG or an MK19 grenade launcher can be installed on the roof.
The Cougar entered service in the US armed forces in 2004.
It is mainly used for patrols, troop transport, commandos, engineer services and rescue missions.
In November of the same year, Cougar vehicles from the 1st Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps stationed in Iraq took part in the Battle of Fallujah.
