StuG III Ausf. B

Einloggen und Bewertung schreiben

Germany's versatile StuG III was originally designed as a support weapon, but was also used as a tank-hunter in the course of the war.
Based on the proven Pz.Kpfw.III, it had a casemate superstructure with an L24 75mm.
The design of the StuG III allowed the installation of a larger calibre gun and resulted in significantly lower production costs, making it one of Germany's most important armoured vehicles in World War II.
The Ausf. B was the first truly mass-produced StuG III, of which over 250 were produced from June 1940.
This version saw action during the Balkan campaign in April 1941 and Operation Barbarossa in June 1941 and was widely respected for its reliable direct fire support and its ability to counter the formidable Soviet tanks.
