Supermarine Spitfire PR.Mk.IV - Part 2

Einloggen und Bewertung schreiben
The Supermarine Spitfire is considered by many to be the most aesthetically designed single-seat fighter aircraft of World War II.
It was designed by the brilliant British designer Reginald J. Mitchell and first flew on March 5, 1936.
It was an advanced, single-seat low-wing monoplane with a very smooth, flush-riveted metal skin and a long, flowing front cowling.
The very pronounced elliptically shaped wing helped reduce parasitic drag and allowed for a relatively thin wing design.
The PR Mk IV was a reconnaissance version (PR stands for Photo-Reconnaissance) with a camera installation.
