The iconic Spitfire was one of the RAF's backbones in the fight for air supremacy during the Second World War.
It featured a sophisticated design and an aesthetically pleasing elliptical wing as well as the proven Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.
The first flight took place in March 1936, and about two and a half years later, in August 1938, the first production Spitfires - the Mk.I - began to go into production.
This Mk.I would play a crucial role in the Battle of Britain, as the Royal Air Force and the Luftwaffe fought a titanic battle for the air and the Luftwaffe's successful defense ensured that the Spitfire achieved international fame that continues to this day .

During World War II, the British military introduced various types of civilian pickup trucks into military service. These “light utility cars”, regardless of make, make and year of production, were all put into service and lovingly accepted by the British soldiers.
The average “light utility car” was powered by a 30 horsepower engine and was seen on a number of fronts.
In the second half of World War II, the Jeep took over front-line duties as a light utility car, but continued to roll through the end of World War I, supporting Allied forces in various roles at airfields and in communications.
