Fiat G.50 B Bicomando 1/32

Einloggen und Bewertung schreiben
Like many other air forces during the Second World War, the Regia Aeronautica used two-seater aircraft converted from ordinary fighters for pilot training.
In 1940, the RA faced a difficult task, because in addition to new pilots needing training, many who were already used to flying in the open cockpit of a biplane had to learn to fly modern, fast monoplanes with retractable landing gear.
And the Fiat G.50B met this need very well.
This two-seat variant of the standard G.50 fighter was created by adding another pilot's seat in place of the fuselage armament in front of the standard cockpit.
A total of 100 of these trainers were built, which were a welcome addition to the Regia Aeronautica and some of which were also used by the Luftwaffe and the Croatian military.
One of these aircraft survived the war and served with the new Italian Air Force until 1948.
