The cab and body are protected against 7.62 mm small arms fire, and the cab is additionally protected against 5.56 mm rounds. The underbody is protected against hand grenades.
The permissible gross vehicle weight is 4.8 tons, and the maximum crew size is 2 + 8 soldiers.
The vehicle is primarily used by the military police.
