The Kaelble company had been known for its robust construction since the late 19th century. However, with the development of heavy-duty tractors like the Z6 V2A, the company secured its place among the elite of commercial vehicle manufacturers. In the 1930s, there was hardly a challenge too great for a Kaelble. Whether in bridge construction, transporting locomotives, or moving massive construction machinery – the name Kaelble was synonymous with untamed power and absolute reliability.

The hallmark of the Z6 V2A is its impressive six-cylinder diesel engine. In an era when many engines were still experimental, Kaelble delivered a power unit designed for longevity.

The Kaelble Z6 V2A played a crucial role in the development of infrastructure. Its deployments for the German Reichsbahn were particularly spectacular. When railcars or even entire locomotives had to be transferred from track to road, the Z6 V2A was often the only vehicle capable of safely transporting these multi-ton loads to their destination. It thus served as a link between rail and road, enabling projects previously considered impossible.
