IDF M113 A1 NAG'MASH 1973

The M113 is an armored personnel carrier developt and started service in the 1960s and is still in active service today.
It is lightly armored, air transportable and normally buoyant. In addition to the 2-man crew, up to 11 soldiers can be transported with it.
It is available in countless modifications and variants.

After the United States, the IDF are the second largest user of the M113 with over 6000 vehicles in service.

In 1967, a number of Jordanian M113s were captured during the Six Day War in the West Bank and put into service with the israeli army.
Israel received the first M113A1 from the US in 1970 to replace the outdated half-tracks previously deployed.

The IDF's M113s were armed with Browning M2HB machine guns and two 7.62mm FN-MAG machine guns on either side of the upper hull.

448 M113 actions took part in the Yom Kippur War in October 1973. They were deployed on the Sinai and Golan fronts.
