Schwimmwagen Type 166 Wide Wheel Version

The European geography, crisscrossed by rivers and characterized by wetlands, presented the German Wehrmacht with significant military challenges and prompted the development of the Schwimmwagen, an amphibious vehicle based on the Kübelwagen designed by Ferdinand Porsche.
Powered by a 25 hp four-cylinder gasoline engine, the Schwimmwagen reached a top speed of 80 km/h on land.
The three-bladed rear propeller was manually lowered via a rod, enabling speeds of up to 10 km/h in the water.
Due to material shortages, many Schwimmwagens were equipped with 133 mm tires, while vehicles with wider 200 mm tires offered significantly better off-road capability.
