The Leopard’s aesthetics were heavily inspired by the design of the Panther, earning it the reputation of being a "Mini-Panther."

Armament: The planned weapon was the 5 cm KwK 39 L/60, which was also used in the Panzer III. While formidable for a scout, it would have stood little chance against heavy Soviet tanks.

Armor: With frontal armor of up to 50 mm (sloped at a sharp angle), it was excellently protected for a reconnaissance vehicle.

Mobility: A Maybach HL 120 engine was intended to propel the approximately 22-ton tank to speeds of up to 60 km/h.
