The Douglas DB-7B Boston III was a twin-engine light bomber manufactured by the American Douglas Aircraft Company and belonged to the successful DB-7/A-20 family. The designation Boston III was used by the British Royal Air Force (RAF) for this version built specifically for Great Britain. From 1941, the aircraft was used in bombing, ground attack, and anti-ship operations and earned an excellent reputation for its high speed and reliability.

The DB-7B was a cantilever, all-metal, low-wing monoplane with retractable nose landing gear. Powered by two Wright Cyclone radial engines, each producing up to 1,600 hp, it reached speeds of around 550 km/h. The crew consisted of three to four men. Its internal bomb bay could carry up to 907 kg of bombs, supplemented by several machine guns for forward and rear defense.

Thanks to its robust construction, good flight performance, and versatility, the Boston III became one of the most successful Allied light bombers of World War II. It proved its worth in both precise low-level attacks and conventional bombing missions, making a significant contribution to the RAF's air operations in Europe and North Africa.
