The FV103 Spartan is a British light tracked vehicle from the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) (CVR(T)) family, introduced in the 1970s. Originally designed as an armored personnel carrier for small reconnaissance units, it is based on a lightweight aluminum hull that provides protection against small arms fire and shrapnel. The Spartan is typically powered by a Jaguar gasoline engine, giving it a top speed of approximately 80 km/h (50 mph), while maintaining excellent off-road capability and strategic mobility.

In modernized versions, the Spartan is equipped with the ODIN turret, a remote weapon station. This allows for the integration of modern weaponry such as heavy machine guns or automatic grenade launchers, combined with electro-optical sensors, thermal imagers, and laser rangefinders. This significantly increases firepower and accuracy while allowing the crew to remain protected inside the vehicle.
