Messerschmitt BF 109 E-3

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 served in the Luftwaffe throughout World War II.
The E3 variant – the first real Bf 109 in mass production – was used from the end of 1939.
It operated at speeds of up to 570 km/h in the skies over Belgium and France during the German invasions.
From the summer of 1940, British airspace became the focus of air operations: the Battle of Britain.
The Bf 109 E-3 fought countless dramatic dogfights with British counterparts such as the Hurricane and the Spitfire.
