The M1A2 SEP Abrams is the latest variant of the US main battle tank.
The M1A2 SEP main battle tanks used in the Middle East and Afghanistan are usually equipped with the Tank Urban Survival Kit (TUSK).
This TUSK kit includes additional armor against armor-piercing projectiles, bullet-resistant steel and glass shields against rifle bullets outside the commander's and loader's hatches, and a coaxial M2HB heavy machine gun mounted on the onboard cannon.
The combat capability of the M1A2 SEP main battle tanks equipped with the TUSK kits in urban combat has been significantly improved.
