The PLZ-05 is a modern Chinese self-propelled howitzer.
The first prototypes were built in 2003 and series production most likely began in 2005 and is still ongoing.
It is estimated that around 300 vehicles of this type were put into service from 2005 to the end of 2017.
The vehicle is probably powered by an 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 800-1000 hp.
The armament consists of a 155 mm howitzer and a single 12.7 mm machine gun.
