Brewster B-339 Buffalo "Pacific Theater"

Einloggen und Bewertung schreiben

The Buffalo was first developed in 1935 as a carrier-based fighter for the US Navy.
A modern mid-wing design with an enclosed cockpit and retractable landing gear.
The first series-produced Buffalo was designated F2A-1, followed shortly afterwards by the improved F2A-2.
The B-339 Buffalo was based on the US Navy's Buffalo and was intended for export only.
It was equipped with an export-rated 1100 hp Wright Cyclone engine and was optimized for shore use, with marine equipment such as the life raft and arresting hooks removed.
The Royal Air Force (RAF) and the Dutch East Indies Army Air Corps (ML-KNIL) used the B-339 during World War II to protect colonial outposts in Malaysia, Singapore and Java.
