The F-35 is available in three versions: A for the Air Force, B for the Marines and C for the Navy. Development was carried out under the JSF program (Joint Strike Fighter Program) and the F-35 was intended to represent the fifth generation of fighter jets. The aircraft has a highly developed stealth design, a state-of-the-art network and countless sensors that provide all the data for the pilot and computer. The F-35C was developed as a successor to the F/A-18 and comes as a so-called CATOBAR (catapult assisted takeoff but arrested recovery).

Compared to the F-35A, the F-35C has larger wings with foldable wing tip sections, larger control surfaces for improved control at low speed, stronger chassis for the loads of carrier landings, a double-wheel buffing gear and a stronger fishing hook for use with carrier system cables. The larger wing area enables a reduced landing speed and increases both area and payload at the same time.
