M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo - Reissue

Reissues of the well-known and popular Tamiya classic!

The M4 Sherman was the mainstay of Allied tank units throughout World War II, and over 50000 examples were produced.
Many variants were developed to meet specific battlefield requirements, including the M4A3E2, known to infantrymen as the "Jumbo".
It was produced in 1944 as a modified M4A3 to meet the requirements for a heavily armoured assault tank that could support infantry on the European front in 1944.
The armour protection on the front and sides of the hull was increased to 101 mm and 76 mm respectively.
The new cast iron turret had a circumference of 152.4 mm, a 178 mm thick gun shield and was equipped with a 75 mm M3 gun.
It was powered by a powerful Ford V8 engine producing 500 hp.
Production of the M4A3E2 began in May 1944 and 254 units were delivered by July.
