During the Second World War, the development of heavy tanks was feverishly pursued.
A large transport vehicle was needed to bring these tanks to the front or to recover them if they were damaged or broken.
In April 1943, the USA began production of the "Dragon Wagon", one of the largest tank transport vehicles of the Second World War.
It consisted of an armoured cabin and a heavy-duty trailer and had a load capacity of 40 tonnes.
The Dragon Wagon also helped transport landing craft for river crossings and was a great asset to the advance of Allied forces.
