Panzer III Ausf. N

In the middle of the Second World War, most German units had difficulties in providing sufficient support for the infantry.
For this reason, the Panzer III version N was built.
In this version, the 5cm guns of the Panzer III were replaced by a short-barreled 7,5cm KwK.
From June 1942 to August 1943 663 tanks were retrofitted, another 37 were converted in 1944.
In summer 1942 these tanks appeared on the battlefield,
 They were equipped with explosive shells and proved extremely effective in reinforcing ground forces. They were used in newly formed heavy tank battalions to make up for the shortage of Tiger I tanks. As a support tank, the Panzer III N was easy to handle and very reliable and fought on many fronts in the second half of World War II.
