The Bücker Bü-181 Bestmann was selected as the Luftwaffe's standard training aircraft in 1939.
It served throughout the war, from the early days to the final phase, and was also used as a night reconnaissance aircraft or even for anti-tank purposes.
The Bü 181 was also built by the Zlin Luftfahrtwerke in Zlin (Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia) and after the German withdrawal production continued after the war, now as the C.6 and C.106 for the Czechoslovak Air Force.
